Rachael Sage's Northeast CD Release Tour with Gregory Douglass
Sage will perform selections from her forthcoming 10th album Haunted By You; advanced copies of the album will be available at the shows.
New York, NY: Prolific East Village-based songstress Rachael Sage debuts her upcoming release Haunted By You with a string of dates with singer-songwriter Gregory Douglass in the Northeast. The tour will kick off on April 22nd at Club Passim, which will be live-streaming via Concert Window. Special advance copies of her record will be on sale prior to its official street date, May 22nd. Sage will be joined by her longtime touring band, The Sequins.
Haunted By You is a stunning new collection of guitar and piano-driven songs about the pain and pleasure of passion, love and soul mates. It's first single, “Abby Would You Wait”, premiered on Huffington Post and is available for free download on www.rachaelsage.com!
Sage and Vermont-native Gregory Douglass first met in 2006 when MPress Records selected his song "Sail the Sea" for the second volume of New Arrivals charity compilation CD, released by the label in 2007. The pair haven't performed together since MPressFest SXSW 2009 and are thrilled to be back on the same bill.
Celebrated songstress Rachael Sage is set to release her 10th studio album Haunted By You on May 22nd, on the label she owns and operates, MPress Records. Rachael has had an illustrious career as an independent artist, respected and praised by the likes of the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Rolling Stone and Billboard. She has shared the stage with Ani DiFranco, Sarah McLachlan and Shawn Colvin and her songs have appeared on MTV, HBO and the "Fame" soundtrack. She has made a name for herself as one of the most active touring artists in independent music with her theatrical stage show, signature flair and colorful stage banter. Billboard has said "her keen ironic sense of humor and quirky sense of the profound is what makes her special as a songwriter" and RollingStone.com called her a "genuine talent." This year, her label MPress Records received its first GRAMMY nomination and its first Billboard charting record.
Gregory Douglass' evocative, alternative sound merges the richly layered, electronic sounds of artists like Imogen Heap and Death Cab For Cutie with the compelling pop songwriting of artists like Jeff Buckley and Tori Amos. With eight critically acclaimed, independent CDs under his belt, the 28-year old Vermont native has shared the stage with artists like They Might Be Giants, Third Eye Blind, The Weepies, Jason Mraz, Regina Spektor and Margaret Cho. Douglass is touring extensively in support of his latest release, LUCID, which "channels everyone from Stevie Wonder to Fiona Apple in a way that's terrifyingly mature for someone so young", (Instinct Magazine).
