Rachael Sage Drops New Album "Myopia", Streaming Now at Curve Magazine

"A striking work of pop-noir, with distinctly profound lyrics." - BlackBook

Curve Magazine exclusively debuted Rachael Sage's new album Myopia, streaming nowThe collection hit the streets tpday and marks Sage's 13th full-length release to date.

Sage recently completed a national tour with synth legend Howard Jones and also recorded her own take on his Top Ten hit "No One Is To Blame", which appears on "Myopia". Listen here!

Three other singles have been released from the album so far:"Olivia", "Sympathy Seed" and Sage's 20th Anniversary version of her feminist anthem, "Sistersong 2018".

Sage states about Myopia, “The idea of things coming in and out of focus depending upon which lens you might be looking through seemed especially provocative right now. As someone who is legally blind without glasses, and who’s also used to squinting to see something more clearly, I started to think about nearsightedness on a much more macro level.” She further explains: “This is a warm-weather record. These are songs about getting out there, thawing things out, and unearthing the truth. Sometimes you can’t do that in the dead of winter. But when the sun is shining, even the murkiest future appears hopeful.”

Seth Glier Wins THREE Independent Music Awards

Marks Glier's Fifth Total IMA Award

GRAMMY®-nominated singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Seth Glier took home three Independent Music Awards on Saturday, March 31 at the 16th annual awards ceremony held at Lincoln Center. The triple win not only scored the most judge's votes of the evening - tied only by actor/musician Reeve Carney (Spider Man: Turn Off The Dark, Penny Dreadful) - but it marked Glier's fifth total award from the organization.

His critically acclaimed 2017 album Birds won in the following categories :

Best Album / Folk-Singer, Songwriter / Birds
Best Song / Folk-Singer, Songwriter / "Like I Do"
Best Producer / Pop Album / Steve Lunt and Seth Glier (Birds)

Glier states, "Thanks to the IMAs not only for the three awards but for continuing to champion and shine a spotlight on independent artists around the world. The process of making Birds was intimate and a bit unconventional. Making it wasn’t (as much) about commerce as it was about healing my heart after losing my brother and grasp upon the world. It feels so good to see that 'wandering' recognized. Special thanks to producer Steve Lunt for being my companion and cohort. These ones are for you, Jamie".

The loss of Glier's severely autistic brother Jamie in 2015 was the partial inspiration behind Birds. Check out the album on Spotify and view the official Independent Music Awards press release and full list of winners.

Rachael Sage To Join Howard Jones For U.S. Tour

Shows Preview New Music, New Album - Spring 2018

Award-winning singer-songwriter and eclectic multi-instrumentalist Rachael Sage will be joining 80s pop pioneer Howard Jones for his nationwide U.S. tour kicking off January 24th in Seattle, WA. Sage has often named Jones as a seminal influence on her music and previously supported him during the UK leg of his 2017 world tour. Along the tour, Sage will be previewing material from her new album Myopia, due May 2018.

In 2017, Sage was invited to open for Howard Jones during the UK portion of his international tour, which delightfully resulted in a creative kinship between the two. Jones expressed that Sage possesses “wonderful songwriting, arrangements and lovely vocals” and again called upon her to join his upcoming 2018 performances in America. The colorful artists will hit most major markets including stops in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Boston, and two nights in New York City. Fans will also be treated to special selections from Sage's forthcoming full-length album, Myopia, set to release this Spring. Violinist Kelly Halloran (Tom Morello) will be accompanying Sage for all of her performances.

Full tour routing can be found via Sage's website. See official press release for further info.
