GREAT AMERICAN SONGWRITING CONTEST & JOHN LENNON SONGWRITING CONTEST
This month, Rachael received 1st Prize in the Great
American Songwriting Contest for her song "93 Maidens",
which recounts the true story of Warsaw teenager Haya Feldman, who - along
with her entire class - took poison rather than submit to the Nazi soldiers.
The song is featured on Rachael's latest album, The
Blistering Sun, but she composed it over ten years ago, while sitting
in a synogogue service, after reading the poem "Letter of the 93
Maidens" in the High Holiday prayer book.
Also in March, two of Rachael's songs were given honors in the John
Lennon Songwriting Contest. "Alright, OK" (remixed by the
production team SuperBuddha)
was named a Finalist in the Electronic Category, and "Lonely Streets"
was one of only 3 Finalists in the Jazz Category. "Lonely Streets"
can be heard on the upcoming "New Arrivals" Vol. 2" compilation...
RACHAEL SAGE: SPRING TOUR 2007
