Award-Winning New York Artists Team Up For Environmental Charity Benefit
New York, NY: Four-time Independent Music Award-winner and multi-instrumentalist Rachael Sage will join Pulitzer Prize-nominated musician Phoebe Legere at Mexicali Live on March 5 to benefit the environmental charity Palisades Parks Conservancy.
Renowned guitarist James Mastro (Patti Smith, Ian Hunter, The Bongos) will accompany Sage during her performance.
Both of these unique, prolific artists will perform their own passionately soulful brand of music while donating a percentage of the show's proceeds towards the Palisades Parks Conservancy. The organization works throughout the Hudson Valley and Northern NJ to improve, protect, and conserve the 29 parks and historic sites owned and operated by the Palisades Interstate Park Commission which serves more than 6 million annual visitors. There will also be an accompanying online auction with items donated from various musicians such as Tony Bennett, Yo La Tengo and more.
NYC-based Rachael Sage has released 12 albums of eclectic originals on her own label, MPress Records. Her 2016 critically-acclaimed album Choreographic is a musically ambitious and emotionally accessible tribute to her very first love: dance. Sage, who studied at The School of American Ballet in her teens, has been reaching an ever-widening audience via Lifetime TV's #1 reality series Dance Moms, which has featured 20 of her songs over the past four seasons - including many used by the show's breakout celebrity star Maddie Ziegler.
Known for her impressive musicianship, colorful stage banter and for personally connecting with her audiences, Sage has steadily built a loyal grassroots fan base with a rigorous international tour schedule, prompting Performing Songwriter Magazine to name her "one of the Top 100 Independent Artists of the past 15 years."
"Part Bob Dylan – part Taylor Swift – Rachael Sage has the guts, vision and talent to embody both within the confines of her music."
"Her keen, ironic sense of humor and quirky sense of the profound is what makes her special as a songwriter"
During February and March, Sage is joining blues rocker Beth Hart's tour for East Coast dates and shortly afterwards will head to the UK for a Spring 2017 tour supporting synth-pop pioneer Howard Jones.
Her new EP, The Tide, released on February 10 via iTunes and lends her voice to the current worldwide political protests and demonstrations.
Rachael and Phoebe are available for in-person, phone or email interviews. Any press considerations are much appreciated.
