2012 Grammy Nomination For Acclaimed
CD by 23-Year Old Folk/Rock Phenom Seth Glier

New York, NY - 23-year old folk/rock phenom Seth Glier is now a Grammy Award Nominee. His acclaimed MPress Records' CD The Next Right Thing is a contender for a 2012 GRAMMY®for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, along with engineers Kevin Killen, Brendan Muldowney and John Shyloski. Glier will attend the February 12, 2012 ceremonies in Los Angeles, and is available for interviews between now and then. With his soaring falsetto and sensitive songwriting, Glier delivers songs that are “breathtakingly beautiful.” Listen to a streaming sampler, here: http://www.sethcohenpr.com/player/sethglier2011/.

Glier recorded all of the vocals for The Next Right Thing in his home studio, utilizing his favorite Apple hardware and software. Little did he know that his engineering work would land him the industry’s highest honor. Glier brought the stems for his new work to Carriage House Studios in Stamford, CT where the rest of the album was recorded, mixed and mastered. Upon the CDs release in January 2011, Glier hit the road, literally, racking up over 250 shows, visiting over 30 states, 50 towns tirelessly showcasing his music and compassion.

In nearly every city Glier visits while on tour, he spends his preshow afternoons visiting HIV Shelters, VA Hospitals, and/or Children’s Hospitals, going from room-to-room and performing for patients. It is this sense of greater purpose that places Glier in a rare spot among today’s young pop stars – and his older brother might be one of the strongest reasons behind this philosophy of ‘giving’ -- Glier’s complex family relationships have long shaped his musical journey, with his brother considered to be his greatest influence. “My brother is autistic and non-verbal. I learned to communicate with words better once I realized how to communicate to someone without them.”

Glier uses his tours to raise awareness for causes that are close to his heart. For example, this past November he embarked on his ‘Food For Thought’ tour, teaming up with CLIF Bar and raising five thousand pounds of food, which was donated to a regional Food Bank. Glier has recently been featured by local Massachusetts ABC-TV affiliate in this lengthy segment and had taped interviews with New England NPR and PBS-TV affiliates that will air closer to the Grammys.

2011 kicked off with a powerful and poignant release from Seth Glier. His sophomore record The Next Right Thing earned him a GRAMMY® nomination for Best Engineered Album and a Independent Music Award. The album has received accolades and comparisons to Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel by USA Today, was added to over 150 radio stations and included on numerous 2011 "best of" playlists. The track"Lauralee" was recommended by USA Today in their "Listen Up Playlist" (Feb 2011) and was propelled to #1 on Clear Channel's NEW! Discover & Uncover. His music video for the second single "Walk Katie Home" premiered on USA Today (July 2011) and he toured with talents like Edwin McCain, Ani DiFranco and Martin Sexton.

2012 sees Glier in the studio working on his 3rd record, attending the 54th Annual GRAMMY® awards awaiting the verdict of his nomination and touring the country. He'll make his debut on the West Coast touring with folk icon Ani DiFranco in late March. Read more of the latest buzz on Seth Glier.
